Minor flood levels possible along Murray

Water releases from Yarrawonga are continuing to cause river level rises along the Murray River.

Residents along the river, from Tocumwal to Barmah are on a ‘stay informed’ warning from NSW SES.

The levels are expected to be below minor flood levels, but may impact low-lying areas next to the river.

Upstream flows from the Murray River combined with floodwaters from the Goulburn River may cause minor flooding along the Murray River below the junction.

Peaks below the minor flood level are expected along the river at Echuca and Torrumbarry over the weekend, with minor flooding possible at Barham.

The Murray River at Barham is rising slowly, below the minor flood level. It may peak near the minor flood level (5.50m) overnight Sunday into Monday.

At Moama, Murray River Council has closed Moama beach.

Due to localised flooding at Moama beach, the area is closed. This includes access to the main car park.

The beach is expected to be closed until next week.
