This was highlighted on Sunday in particular, when the facilities were being used by three different groups for events.
There was the annual Deniliquin Collector’s Club Spring Rally in the showgrounds section of Memorial Park, and in the pavilion (see pages 6 and 7).
Closer to the entrance to Memorial Park, at the cricket oval, there was the St Kilda Cricket Club intra club preseason matches hosted by the Deniliquin Rhinos Cricket Club.
And on the main oval, the Deniliquin Rovers hosted junior presentations and a parents versus kids game.
Presentations were also held out on the oval, to take advantage of the spring weather - although a little overcast.
Users praised Edward River Council for having the facilities in great nick for all events.
Remain lane wise
Deniliquin’s skyline is expected to be interrupted by a large crane this week, as work to replace the Deniliquin Baptist Church roof starts.
With work taking place all this week, Wyse Lane beside the church will be closed until Friday for the safety of pedestrians and motorists.
Parts of George St car park behind the church will also be inaccessible while the work is taking place.
The roof is original to the building, which was built in 1956, and rusting at the corrugated iron sheet overlaps has already caused one major leek.

Muster tickets in demand
The Deni Ute Muster team have been saying for weeks they were on track for a sell-out event this year, but it seems some thought they were not serious.
Possibly dismissed as a marketing ploy – the type of ploy our Muster organisers do not normally use - quite a few regular Muster goers have been caught out this year.
As soon as news broke last week that all two-day general admission had been pre-sold – meaning there would be none sold at the gate – the social media channels went crazy.
Quite a few posts from locals and visitors alike seeking Ute Muster tickets have been spotted already.
But those who missed out on two day tickets might still get a chance to experience the famous festival if they act now.
There are still some of the limited number of Saturday-only tickets still available.
While these don’t allow you to camp out at the Muster, you do get to see at least one day of action and music.
Go to www.deniutemuster.com.au/tickets-on-sale-now to buy now. And this time, believe us when we say if you’re not quick, you will miss out.
