McPherson Media Group has announced a major acceleration of its expansion in digital media.
Later this month, the group will launch upgraded mobile apps across all its news mastheads including Country News.
Developed in partnership with a leading international provider, these new apps will deliver a rich multimedia experience including original reporting, podcasts, text-to-audio playlists, interactive puzzles and replica e-editions.
The printed format of Country News will not change.
Its publication dates will stay the same across the newspapers it appears in, including the Tuesday edition of Shepparton News, except for the Riverine Herald in Echuca.
It will move from Wednesday to a new Tuesday edition for Riverine Herald readers, starting the week commencing July 14.
“More than 80 per cent of our digital readers already consume our local journalism via their mobile phones,” said Ross McPherson, chairman of the family owned MMG.
“From late this month we’ll be giving them the best possible mobile experience.”
Details of the new products will be released closer to each launch.
