A man was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Tallarook.
The incident occurred on Friday, May 9 at 7.59am, and led to the extended closure of all northbound lanes of the Hume Fwy at Tallarook, between Upper Goulburn Rd and Main Rd.
Police said a car travelling northbound on the southern end of the Hume Fwy bridge leading into Tallarook crashed into the rear of a broken-down vehicle, and subsequently collided with its driver, who was standing near the vehicle.
Both drivers were injured in the collision.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the driver of the broken-down vehicle, a man in his 60s, was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition after being treated for upper body injuries.
The other driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital by road in a stable condition after being treated for upper body injuries.
The scene was attended by CFA, Ambulance Victoria, SES and police.
