This Saturday night, February 4, the town’s main street will be set up with tables and chairs from 5.30pm until 10.30pm as vendors offer a variety of food between Church and Albion Sts.
Planned for October last year, the development group is hoping to attract people from throughout the region to the event, which they hope will become a regular fixture on the entertainment calendar.
There is no cost to attend the evening thanks to the support of the Kyabram Club, Kyabram branch of the Bendigo Bank, Gardiner Foundation and the Campaspe Shire Council.
Carmen Nicholson, a member of the organising committee, said the motivation behind the event was to create a community event that not only brought the Kyabram and district community together, but also supported businesses and community groups after a couple of tough years.
The event was originally scheduled for October, but due to the evolving flood situation impacting our neighbours the decision was made to reschedule.
Festival specialists, Baker Boys, will provide the high energy component of the entertainment.
They are a five-piece band who have performed regularly with touring and recording artists including Vance Joy, Crowded House, John Farnham, Dragon, Gotye and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Jayne Lilford will also return to the stage, and it’s only fitting she does so in her hometown.
Jayne has been writing and performing her own original songs from the age of 13, was self-taught on the guitar and has played alongside the likes of Ella and Jesse Hooper, Jordie Lane, Jess McAvoy, Clare Bowditch and Angus and Julia Stone.
She finished in the top 12 of the over-25s category on the 2011 version of The X Factor.
Indi Gilmore is another product of renowned music and performing arts company Dillmac Entertainment.
She has performed recently on the Bendigo live music scene, at the Rochester Town Christmas Party, Pop and Pour Festival and at the Day for Dale.
