The sun shone brightly down on Irvin Hall on Tuesday, August 12, as the Cobram Anglican Grammar School junior choir opened with a bracket of well-known songs, much to the delight of the 110 attendees.
Irvin Hall was filled to capacity for the Uniting Church’s annual Mission Lunch.

A hot two-course meal followed, featuring lasagne, chicken and vegetable dishes, topped off with sticky date pudding, apple or rhubarb crumble and slices with a cuppa.
Guest speaker Dianne Raco said there was a huge problem associated with district residents not having access to a dialysis chair at Cobram Health.
She stressed the importance to the community of obtaining government approval to be able to ‘set the wheels in motion’ to bring this important acquisition to our town for those who were currently forced to travel to receive treatment.

Mrs Raco said the team needed community support in the form of writing letters to the health minister or their local MP to ensure they were being heard.
Riverside Church team leader Annette Mustica held the audience spellbound as she told how they cooked 60 meals each Monday after work for needy families and those struggling with health issues or families who had lost a parent in need of an outstretched hand to help ease the load.
The Uniting Church presented $800 to Mrs Mustica as a show of support for her team’s amazing work, which puts a smile on the faces of those who receive a home-cooked, nutritious meal each week.
The church then donated $1250 towards transporting the 100 Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Child Shoe Boxes the Cobram Uniting Church is packing for disadvantaged children in the Pacific Islands and Cambodia.
For many, it will be the first gift they have ever received.
A display of hats and accessories, some dating back to the early 20th century, proved to be of interest for many.
