Despite being diagnosed with a heart condition about two years ago, Ms Williams recently broke her parkrun record with a time of 18.14.
“I held the previous record, which was 18.18 when I was running at a really high level, so I was really surprised,” she said.
“I was once told I couldn’t even run for a bus so to break the record made me quite emotional.
“After everything that’s happened, I had the biggest smile.”
It has only been five months since Ms Williams gave birth to her son Hudson, making the feat all the more impressive.
“Every day after I had him I just did little bit, by little bit — literally baby steps,” she said.
Ms Williams focuses on her fitness studio for women, which has become a motivating environment.
She chalked her achievement up to running fitness classes and her new coach — Australian Olympian Steve Moneghetti.
Mr Moneghetti is based in Ballarat but has been training Ms Williams via Zoom.
“That’s been one thing to motivate me a lot, he’s a great coach,” Ms Williams said.
“In the running world it's hard to impress coaches but he’s very optimistic and encourages me to go further.
“He’s all about having a really good life balance as well.”
Ms Williams has slowly regained her confidence and is hoping to compete at the Commonwealth Games next year, running a 42 km marathon.
In July, Ms Williams will take part in the Gold Coast half marathon in the hope of qualifying.
“I’m absolutely petrified because 42 km such a long way but Steve's specialty is marathons,” she said.
Training will include holding her fitness classes on top of running 100 km week.
While Ms Williams has had a heart scare in the past, she said she would not let it stop her from achieving her goals.
“I can’t live in fear,” she said.
