Entrants enjoyed the chance to see their works proudly on display at Cobram’s Killara House over the weekend, where guests could gaze upon an exhibition of some of the best local art.
Club president John Johnson said he was impressed by the variety of artwork.
“They were all good, but there were some really good ones,” he said.
This year’s show fielded a total of 67 entries across its two age sections, 10 to 14 years old and 15-plus.
Entrants in the 10 to 14 years category competed for first place across four awards, including overall winner, peace poster, peoples’ choice and the Moira Shire Tourism award.
While judges were impressed by the quality and variety of the entries, there could only be one overall winner in each category.
Bella Broderick was crowned overall winner of the 10 to 14 years category.
Meanwhile, Cobram Anglican Grammar School student Angelina McKay followed up her success at last year’s show, where she claimed first prize with her international peace poster, with first places this year in the Peoples’ Choice and Moira Shire Tourism awards.
Abby Herezo won first place in the International Peace Poster competition, and will have her work entered in the next level of the competition.
Fairlie Evans received an encouragement award in the peace poster section.
Winning encouragement awards for Moira Shire Tourism and general in the 10 to 14 years section were Issy Spartaro and Angel Wilson.
Those with entries in the 15-plus section went up for peoples’ choice, first and second overall winners, and a photography award, which this year was won by local photographer Mark Dahlenburg.
Jeanette Graham was overall winner and Peoples’ Choice winner in the 15-plus section, with David Stokes coming second overall.
Sharon Moran received the encouragement award, while the Lions Highly Commended Award went to Leah Deppeler.
The Courier’s Owen Sinclair was there to capture some of the cherished moments.
