The novel, set in the small mountain town of Edenville in Victoria’s high country, centres on the story of five hikers who were horrifically murdered on nearby Jagged Ridge.
Found near the scene was the body of Bill ‘Creeper’ Durant, an expert deer-hunter and bushland loner.
As the 10th anniversary of the murders nears, Durant’s brother Lex begins to protest his innocence and accuses the police of his brother’s persecution.
Detective Constable Sally White, the town’s only police officer, finds herself embroiled in the dark world of the infamous Durant family.
With a PhD in creative writing, Hickey has written stage productions that have enthralled audiences from Melbourne to New York.
She will be visiting the Shepparton and Cobram libraries on Tuesday, October 22, at 2pm and 5pm, respectively.
Readers interested in joining the author are invited to contact Goulburn Valley Libraries on 1300 374 765, or email gvlibraries@gvlibraries.com.au for more information.
Copies of Hickey’s latest book will be available for purchase at the event.
