Unlike a talent quest, this event isn’t about competition, it’s about showcasing creativity, confidence and the joy of performing for people of all abilities.
One of this year’s standout performers is Yarrawonga’s Keira Donovan, who will also celebrate her 39th birthday on the day of the show.
Keira is known throughout the Moira Shire for her empathy, kindness and vibrant personality.
She loves the close-knit community, the weather, her friends and her large family; she is one of eight children.
Keira loves performing and being on the stage.
Keira has a busy and active week.
She volunteers, takes dance lessons, attends a life skills course, works at McDonald’s, plays bingo, and enjoys swimming and water aerobics.
“She’s very busy, and she loves it,” her mum, Pam, said.
“Keira loves performing, and she’s very happy when she’s up on stage.”
For the talent show, Keira will perform a dance routine to Welcome to My World, wearing a beautiful new costume she is proud of.
Keira has danced for many years and loves jazz, contemporary and Latin American styles.
“I love being on stage,” Keira said.
Keira’s love of performance goes beyond her own act.
She cheers for every performer, encourages newcomers and makes friends with other participants.
“It’s lots of fun, and you should try it,” she said.
This year marks Keira’s third appearance in the All Abilities Talent Show, which has grown steadily with strong community support.
Families, friends and local supporters come together to celebrate the talents of participants in a warm and inclusive environment.
“It’s lovely to know that we have opportunities like this in the shire,” Pam said.
“Keira’s friends and supporters will all be there cheering her on.”
Keira loves jazz, contemporary and Latin American styles.
The show’s inclusive format, with no judging or ranking, ensures that every performer can express themselves freely and feel proud of their achievement.
It’s a platform for joy, creativity and connection; a space where everyone belongs.
As the Cobram Civic Centre fills with applause, music and excitement, Keira’s birthday performance promises to be a highlight.
Surrounded by family, friends and a supportive crowd, she will once again step on to the stage she loves and invite everyone to share in her world.
A world full of talent, courage and community; exactly what the Moira All Abilities Talent Show celebrates each year.
