The Hoppers could not cause an upset with the home side, going down by 34 goals.
Yarroweyah finishes the season with the wooden spoon, eight points adrift of 12th-placed Jerilderie and 11th-placed Mathoura.
The Hoppers’ only win of the season came back in round three when the side downed finalist Rennie, 41-40.
Katamatite
Katamatite rounded out the regular season with a solid 23-goal win against Blighty.
Final score: Blighty 33 lost to Katamatite 56
The result secures second place for the Tigers and a week off in the first week of finals.
‘‘It was fantastic to finish to our home and away season with a great win against Blighty,’’ Katamatite coach Ria Still said.
‘‘We had fantastic defensive pressure across the entire court and we made smart decisions which allowed us to execute the win.’’
The Tigers face Katunga in week two of the finals and Still believes Katamatite will be ready for a tough match against the outfit which her side lost two by five goals in round 17.
‘‘We are excited for the finals campaign to get under way,’’ she said.
‘‘We are very aware it’ll be a tough game against Katunga and we will have to play our best netball to come away with the win.
‘‘We look forward to taking on the challenge ahead as a team unit and I can’t wait to see what we can do.’’
Strathmerton
Strathmerton has finished the regular season with three wins on the trot, including a 18-goal win at home against Rennie.
Final score: Strathmerton 63 d Rennie 45
The Bulldogs have scored 201 points in the past three weeks of netball, however, it was not enough for the side to break into the top four, finishing the home and away season in fifth.
‘‘What a great way to end our home and away season and head into finals,’’ Strathmerton coach Caitlyn Price said.
‘‘The momentum wasn’t always going our way but for majority of the game we kept in control.
‘‘We played patient netball, kept possession of the ball and put it to the advantage of our attackers.
‘‘It was a hard hit out but a strong finish which is what we needed heading into next week’s final.’’
Strathmerton takes on Rennie again this weekend in an elimination final at Katamatite on Saturday.
The big win in round 18 and the 28 points separating the sides during the season makes the Bulldogs the clear favourites to progress to week two of the finals.
