The day was filled with many laughs and memories shared between family members and friends with Mr Allitt over the years.
One in particular was from Sue Burdach, from Tasmania. She recalled Mr Allitt waving the fly swat around while trying to get the three kids ready for the school bus in the morning.
The man of the moment, arriving in style in the 1922 Dodge, was delighted to be presented official birthday messages from Edward River Council Mayor Peta Betts, including one from Queen Elizabeth II.
Mr Allitt finished his birthday celebrations with a dance by the bonfire at the place he was born 100 years ago - “Camperdown”.
