Applications for the 2025-26 Community Food Relief Program, with grants worth up to $100,000, are open to not-for-profit groups throughout the Ovens Valley.
State Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy said the funding aimed to strengthen local efforts to assist residents facing food insecurity amid ongoing cost-of-living pressures.
“Many families are doing it tough right now, and we’re lucky to have dedicated community groups stepping up to help,” Mr McCurdy said.
“This funding is about giving those groups the resources they need to continue their vital work, whether that’s through food parcels, community meals, or emergency relief.”
The program is open to:
- Neighbourhood Houses
- Volunteer-led and community-based organisations
- Social enterprises involved in food relief
Mr McCurdy said the grants were designed to support the grassroots organisations already on the ground, delivering real help to people who needed it most.
“If your group is eligible, I strongly encourage you to put your hand up and apply,” he said.
Applications close Tuesday, August 19.
