Councillor Bernard Gaffney has been unanimously re-elected as Indigo Shire Council’ deputy mayor at the monthly meeting in Beechworth last Tuesday night.
Councillor Peter Croucher nominated Cr Gaffney which was seconded by councillor Emmerick Teissl.
After the vote, Cr Gaffney thanked the councillors and said he looked forward to 2024.
“I’m sure it will be a great year for council,” he said.
“2023 has been really busy and I think council has shown itself to be very functional.”
Indigo Shire Council Mayor Sophie Price did not face re-election, after securing the mayoral seat last year on a two-year term.
