The structure plan provides guidance on land use, infrastructure, environmental management and transport networks to help achieve the township’s long-term vision.
The draft has been developed following an earlier stage of community engagement held in June and July 2025, where Moira Shire Council received 151 submissions.
Community members highlighted Bundalong’s natural beauty, river setting, village atmosphere and community spirit, key themes now reflected in the draft plan.
Council chair administrator Graeme Emonson said the release of the draft marked a major step for the Bundalong community.
“Earlier consultation made it clear what people value most about Bundalong,” Dr Emonson said.
“We are now asking residents, landowners and visitors to review the draft structure plan and tell us what matters most as we finalise the planning process.
“The draft plan outlines objectives across housing, local economy and land use, landscape and environment, urban design and heritage, movement and transport, community facilities and physical infrastructure.”
Community members can review the draft structure plan and background report on council’s engagement platform, request a printed copy or speak to council staff at a community drop-in session.
The drop session will be held on two separate dates:
Thursday, March 19 at Dan Cronin Recreation Reserve and Public Hall, Pyke St, Bundalong, from 5pm to 7pm.
Friday, March 20 at Watt’s In Cafe, Murray Valley Hwy, Bundalong, from 9am to 11am.
Feedback closes Thursday, April 16.
