A casual drop-in event offering pizza and drinks along with an opportunity to catch up with fellow veterans will take place on Tuesday, August 25.
Echuca RSL sub-branch president Drew Clyne said the gathering aimed to connect younger veterans from post-Vietnam conflicts with the RSL to introduce them to an organisation willing to support them.
Mr Clyne said the RSL offered support in many fields, not only in friendship, but in health, psychological assistance and wellbeing.
“Often mateship is a good starting point and just to know that there’s an organisation that’s available to welcome them in,” he said.
All service people and their families are welcome to attend, including former and current military personnel, whether their service was carried out during peacetime, on operations, through national service or in the reserves.
Attendees can drop in any time between 4pm and 6pm at the Echuca Bowls Club on Ogilvie Ave.
For additional inquiries, community members can contact Echuca RSL sub-branch president Drew Clyne on 0400 885 520 or secretary Terry James on 0417 431 283.
