CFA firefighters were called to the fire on the corner of Katandra Main Rd and Evans Rd at Waggarandall – east of Katandra – shortly after 6.20am.
CFA District 22 commander John Macklin said the driver of the ute had called emergency services after seeing flames coming from underneath his dashboard and smoke starting to fill the cabin of the ute.
The red marker marks the spot where the ute caught on fire.
Firefighters from Yabba North and Katamatite CFA brigades were called, but the ute was engulfed in fire when the first of the firefighters arrived shortly after 6.40am.
It only took five minutes before firefighters had the fire under control, but the ute was destroyed.
The 43-year-old man driving the ute was not injured in the fire, according to Mr Macklin.
