Running on July 23 and 24, businesses will each have a deal for just $1, from entry fees to treats, drinks and activities.
While most of the special offerings can be found in Cobram, Barooga, Yarrawonga, Mulwala and Nathalia, others can be found in Katunga, St James, Bearii and Picola.
Participating operators include Cactus Country, The Big Strawberry, Monichino Wines, Sporties, Squires Winery and Yarrawonga Mulwala Historical Society.
Cactus Country owner John Hall said the event helped locals explore the region “like a tourist”.
““Every year we get more and more people telling us they're visiting because a local recommended us ... the visiting friends and relatives market is huge for Cactus Country,” he said.
“If you fall in love with a new venue or it reminds you of how much you like a place, you will visit often.”
Moira Shire Mayor Libro Mustica said the weekend was a great opportunity to have fun experiences with visiting friends and family along the Murray.
‘’Council’s Visiting Friends and Relatives campaign is vital to local and regional tourism, with statistics showing that more than 30 per cent of our day and overnight visitors come to our shire because they have family and friends living locally,” he said.
“This weekend is a fantastic chance to explore our own backyard while supporting local businesses.”
