The family run business in Bridge St is a hub for both locals and visitors to the Murrumbidgee Council town.
Business owner Ernie Davis said Davis Supermarket they wanted to become a stockist of the newspaper “just to support local”.
“We had our local newspaper for a couple of years, the Coly Point Observer, but that’s gone by the wayside,” Ernie said.
“That’s the way newspapers have been going, but with the SRN still operating, we’re look to support something local.
“People want to know what’s going, and also want the Coly and Jerilderie news as part of the Murrumbidgee region.”
Mr Davis’ family has been operating the supermarket - a community staple - for half a century, offering quality friendly grocery service.
“It's been a local family business for 50 years, and I’ve been in the role for 30 years, having taken over from my parents,” he said.
“Darlington Point is a good community and pretty well-supported.
“The supermarket is not as big as some in the bigger towns, but it’s got a little bit of everything.”
As of last week, that “little bit of everything” now include the weekly Southern Riverina News.
