Mitchell Shire Council has distributed its monthly update on roadworks across the region.

As part of a commitment to ensuring safe and efficient road networks, council sets out to regularly review and maintain 761km of sealed roads, 714km of unsealed roads, and numerous footpaths and bridges.
Throughout July, a number of projects have been completed, and several are set to commence.
Completed works
Oak St and Wimble St, Seymour: Resurfacing works and the installation of speed cushions
High St, Seymour: High St, between Crawford St and the Wallis St roundabout, was resurfaced, and the High St/Wallis St roundabout was resurfaced
Hughes Creek Rd, Tarcombe: Reconstruction of a bridge to improve safety and eliminate the load limit, allowing the safe passage of agricultural machinery and other heavy vehicles
Lambing Gully Rd, Whiteheads Creek: Re-sheeting an unsealed road
Ongoing
Road pavement evaluation: Lancefield-Pyalong Rd in Pyalong is being evaluated to determine if repairs are needed, and identified issues will be scheduled for repair
Inland Rail, Broadford: Inland Rail is undertaking significant works in Broadford across three key sites, including Hamilton St, Short St and Marchbanks Rd, and there will be a full closure of the Hamilton St bridge from 7am Sunday, July 27 to 7am Tuesday, July 29
During June, council repaired 129 potholes across the shire, and is putting a call out for reports on its interactive website at tinyurl.com/2vauvdht
A number of roads were graded across the shire in June as part of council’s ongoing maintenance program, including Edward St, Hanna St, Manners St, Robert St and Tierney St in Seymour.
