Benalla didn’t get the nickname ‘the Rose City’ by accident. For generations locals have celebrated and supported the area’s natural beauty, and on Sunday, May 26 you can join that tradition.
Benalla Sustainable Future Group is hosting a tree-planting day and the whole community is invited.
Featuring a complimentary barbecue and nature-inspired games, it’s a fantastic opportunity to forge new friendships and connections.
A BSFG spokesperson said participants could take home a free tree or shrub for their garden or nature strip.
“It will be a fun day of Wayapa Wuurrk, which is a contemporary earth mindfulness based on ancient Indigenous wisdom which combines story with a sequence of movements to connect with ourselves and nature,” the spokesperson said.
“The day will also feature some fun and interactive nature games for all ages and abilities.”
It is free to take part, but BSFG asks that attendees register in advance via www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1220916/
Attendees are asked to meet outside Benalla Library on May 26 at 10am.
The event was made possible by funding from Social Inclusion Action Group.
