Cobram Anglican Grammar Student, Cedric Pang, has been congratulated by the State Member for Ovens Valley, Tim McCurdy, after placing second in the year’s 7 to 9 Victorian Parliament Prize.
Cedric delivered a 90-second statement on the shortage of doctors in rural areas, speaking with great passion and insight about the challenges of living in a regional area.
Mr McCurdy said it was a huge achievement.
“I am incredibly proud to see young people like Cedric putting themselves forward, particularly from our smaller regional towns like Cobram,” Mr McCurdy said.
“He spoke well and delivered an excellent speech using both personal experiences as well as providing evidence and solutions.
“It is encouraging for us as a community to see young people being switched on and engaging in debates on important issues such as these.
“They are the future, and the decisions of today will impact them in the decades to come.
“Congratulations Cedric on this well-deserved achievement – you, your family, and the whole Cobram community can be proud.”
