A hunt for bargains has raised $1500 for the Cobram community, supporting local projects, while residents took home some great finds.

The Cobram Rotary Club organised a town-wide garage sale on Saturday, March 21, drawing crowds who lined up early to buy maps of participating homes.
Cobram Rotary Club member Doreen Hill said the garage sale was a “huge success”, with eager shoppers gathering at Federation Park before the 8am start.
“It was $20 for people to register their stall and $5 to buy a map,” she said.
“We sold 150 maps and had 41 garage sale registrations between Cobram and Barooga.
“The feedback from stallholders so far has all been positive.”

Ms Hill said she thought the garage sale was “really good for the town”.
“It gives people an incentive to clean up their stuff and helps them because many people aren’t in a position to take things to the tip or op shop,” she said.
“Also, many people got some fantastic bargains.”
Ms Hill said there was a great variety of things on offer, from bikes, kayaks and trailers to clothing, plants, furniture and even brand-new kitchen appliances.
“There were some really eclectic things too,” Ms Hill said.
“Personalised number plates, antique wall clocks, all sorts of different things, which made it really interesting.”
Ms Hill said the money raised would go towards local community projects.
She also thanked the event sponsors, Cobram Community House, Panda Homewares, RJ Cornish, Giff Crosthwaite and Ellie Stephens, for their contributions.
“This will really help us help the community,” she said.
