The Cobram River Arts Inc are proud to be hosting their third community brunch raising money for the Cancer Council.
Club president Sandi Hamilton said last year they did the ‘biggest morning tea’ and this year they thought they would mix it up.
“We’re all excited, and we have a lovely menu,” she said.
Guests will receive “nibbles” and a “cuppa” on arrival, with brunch to be served at 11.30am.
For brunch, there will be a choice between quiche or lasagne with salad and baked potatoes, followed by a choice of apple crumble or fruit salad for desert.
The Numurkah Ukulele group will also be playing music for attendees, with several guest speakers yet to be confirmed.
Mrs Hamilton said she had a personal connection to the cause as her husband passed away from cancer, and she felt it was important to increase awareness.
“I think everybody in our group, everybody that you speak to, somehow they have been touched by cancer...” she said.
“I’m always keen to provide money or raise funds to be able to give the Cancer Council all the support that they can get.
“I’m personally going to donate bales of hay and raffle them off for the garden...and we’ll have other little raffles too.”
In previous years the club have raised over $2000 with 100 per cent of the funds going towards the Cancer Council.
The “Long Table Brunch” will be held on Saturday, April 18 from 10am to 1pm at Barooga Public School, under the big outdoor area.
