But don’t panic ― you can ditch them the second you get through the gates.
These are licensing rules, not the Kyabram Development Committee’s.
And turning up will be well worth it.
The celebration is set to light up the Kyabram Recreation Reserve on Friday, October 23, running from 5.30pm to 10pm.
Main entry gates will be set up on Unwin St and off Dawes Rd, with limited parking available.
Attendees can look forward to a diverse program featuring a lineup of six local music acts covering country, pop and opera.
Alongside the music, there will be children’s activities, glow stick sales, commemorative stubby holders and more than 10 food trucks serving various cuisines.
Organisers remind attendees that the celebration is a no-pets and no-BYO event.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and picnic blankets.
To help mark the 150th anniversary, organisers are asking locals to share their memories.
Community members are encouraged to share their photos and video footage from past events — including Under the Gums, Tastes and Tunes, and Kamikaze — by sending them to the Kyabram Development Committee Facebook page.
Committee members said the celebration was the culmination of a community effort and marked the start of bigger things to come for Kyabram.
Anyone interested in volunteering to welcome the crowds at the gates on the night or joining the subcommittee can get in touch via the committee’s Facebook page.
