Gwen Campbell belongs to the latter group.
For 37 years Ms Campbell has worked at CIF Trading - Poolside Cobram at 3765 Murray Valley Hwy.
Wednesday, January 25 will be her final day.
She started in 1985, as she knew the previous owner of the business.
Over the years she has seen numerous changes to the business and helped countless customers.
As for the best part of her job, Ms Campbell said it was the chance to interact with other people.
“The people you work with and people you see that come in. That’s number one,” she said.
Ms Campbell said making a success of such a long career boiled down to attitude.
“Have a good work attitude — make sure you turn up each day,” she said.

CIF Trading - Poolside Cobram owner Jenny Hindson has worked with Ms Campbell for many years and has nothing but praise for her colleague.
“She has always been a loyal worker, and customers over the years have come to see Gwen, as she knows the irrigation industry through and through, as the expert and the go-to person for their irrigation needs,” she said.
Mrs Hindson went on to say that her soon-to-be-retired colleague was someone who could be relied upon to get the job done with a minimum of fuss.
“Gwen is a quiet achiever who puts 100 per cent in everything she does, and does so with a positive attitude,” she said.
Mrs Hindson said that though Ms Campbell would be greatly missed, she hoped she would be able to sit back, relax, travel and enjoy life.
“She will be sorely missed but we wish her every happiness for the future,” Mrs Hindson said
