As the sun rose on the morning of Australia Day, there was not a cloud in the sky.

And with a hot day ahead, many took the opportunity to get out and about at various official celebrations or just with friends and family.
The Courier was out and about to capture the action throughout the day.
The Cobram Rotary Club, as the organising committee for the Moira Australia Day Awards in Cobram, made the extremely difficult decision to postpone the awards.
The awards were postponed due to ongoing COVID-19-related concerns in the community.
The club said it is looking forward to celebrating the spirit of Australia Day and associated community awards as soon as possible within the next few months.
The winners are set to be announced around the same time as the rescheduled Moira Shire Australia Day awards.
Given the awards have not yet been given, the following are the nominees for each award.
Citizen of the Year: Rob Morey and Rachel McKay.
Junior Citizen of the Year: Grear Wylie.
Young Citizen of the Year: Billie Boyd, Alyssa Ianucci.
Community Event of the Year: Cobram Secondary College — Anzac Ceremony.
Community Organization of the Year: Cobram Community Cinema, Cobram FoodShare, Cobram Youth Op-Shop, Cobram Cemetery Trust, Cobram Community Cinema.
Arts, Culture/Environment Project of the Year: Cobram Community Cinema, Cobram Secondary College — Anzac Ceremony, Cobram Cemetery Trust.
Moggs Accounting’s Peter Mogg and three community members were asked to independently choose the finalists, which they said were “extremely close and difficult” to make.
Vocalist Jane Camden and guest spaker author Clancy Tucker will be participating in the rescheduled event, with Jane singing some great Australian favourites and Clancy speaking on community.
The club thanks the Cobram community members for their patience and is looking forward to a memorable ceremony soon.
On hand: Leading Senior Constable Chris Westrope with his son Dale Westrope who was the CFA representative on hand.
