Purcell has two third placings at the Finley Autumn Cup on March 16, with Decker in the coveted RSM Accountants Albury Finley Autumn Cup (1400m) and with Gobbo’s Mate in the GA Finley & Country Club Hotel Class 1 Handicap (1200m).
Decker has been nominated to run again this Saturday in the Farewell Tocumwal Hunt Club Tocumwal Gold Cup over 1300m.
Zarsupreme out of the Purcell stables has also been nominated for the same race.
There are 25 nominated for the race in total, with the field limit at 12 with four emergencies.
Zarsupreme has also been nominated for the Southern Rivers Water Brokers Benchmark 45 Handicap (1300m), which also has a nomination list far exceeding the field limit.
Finley Autumn Cup winner Albert’s Melody, trained by Kym Davidson, has also been nominated for the Southern Rivers Water Brokers Benchmark 45 Handicap in Tocumwal this weekend.
Finley Autumn Cup 2024 Sun Valley Australia AF Honeychurch Memorial winning trainer Dan McCarthy will also return to the region for the Tocumwal meet.
Memorial winner Basso Caruso has been nominated for the Melbourne Bolt Co. Benchmark 50 Handicap (1600m) and Fabulous Choice out of his stables nominated for Tocumwal’s cup race.
Tocumwal’s meet has a six race card, with gates opening at 11am.
There will be TAB and bookmaker facilities on site, bar and catering and the popular fashions on the field.
Entry is $30 (including racebook), aged pensioners are $20 and under-16s are free.
Town buses, sponsored by Baldwin’s Buses, will run for free from 11.30am until 1pm with pick up points running in a loop. These are Farmers Arms Hotel, Tocumwal Police Station, Terminus Hotel, and opposite Boomerang Way Caravan Park. Services will also depart Murray Riverside Caravan Park at noon and Town Beach and Tocumwal Golf Club at 11.30am and 12.30pm.
Buses will leave the racecourse at 5pm and 5.45pm.
