The Campaspe Shire Council executive team is making the trip east for what appears to be an invite-only event at the park on Monday, December 11 at 2pm.
It is believed to be the first time that the recently assembled ‘dream team’ of chief executive Pauline Gordon has been in Kyabram at the one time for a community event.
Ms Gordon is expected to be accompanied by sustainability director Michael Sharp, director communities Jo Bradshaw, director infrastructure Kate Lemon, corporate director Matthew McPherson and director community safety and recovery Shannon Maynard for what is being described as a meet and greet event.
Mr Maynard was the first of the five-member executive appointed, his role a new one in response to the devastating effects of the October 2022 floods on the region.
Mr Maynard, who has been working closely with the flood-ravaged Rochester community, was appointed as director emergency management (the role has since had a change of name) in April.
A month or so after Mr Maynard’s appointment, Ms Gordon announced the final four members of the new line-up after she took over the top job from former chief Declan Moore.
Ms Gordon only moved into the chief executive’s chair in late October last year, after interim chief Tim Tamlin had spent three months in a caretaker role after council and Mr Moore parted company.
Mr Sharp arrived at Campaspe Shire Council after a career in planning and development at Hume City Council and holds an honours degree in urban and regional planning and a master of business administration.

Ms Lemon was a former librarian with the now defunct Shire of Rochester and after various roles in the community department, including the role of aged and disability services manager, was appointed to the position of public environments manager.
Three years ago, she took on the role of manager community business, which comprised local laws, saleyards, Port of Echuca, Echuca Caravan Park and the animal shelter.
Ms Bradshaw grew up on a dairy farm in Tongala and her family still lives in Campaspe.
She has spent 20 years in local government, in community planning, policy development, regulation and service delivery.
Mr McPherson started at Campaspe Shire Council in 2008 as an asset analyst and in 2022 he took on the acting role as director corporate, a portfolio that includes finance, information communication technology, people and culture, customer service, communications, risk and audit committee.
He is originally from Numurkah and has been involved in the community as treasurer on school council and with children’s sporting activities.
Ms Gordon and her team have allocated two hours for the session and among the invitees are the principals of Kyabram’s two major education facilities and leaders of both the Chamber of Commerce and Development Committee.
Dee Stagg and Tania Chiswell are both on the list of Kyabram leaders who have been invited to attend. Kyabram Fauna Park general manager Lachlan Gordon and another key player at the Zoos Victoria site, Paul Lavars, will also be involved in the meeting.
The list provided to the Free Press also has Kyabram District Health Service chief executive Anne McEvoy and long-time community leader Peter Nelson among the invitees.
