Betta Electrical, BP Barooga and Nye Refrigeration and Air Conditioning were three businesses targeted in break-ins, which saw televisions, jewellery and a vehicle stolen.
BP Barooga service station was broken into early on Saturday, but the offender failed to access the cigarette compartment.
Nye Refrigeration and Air Conditioning’s office was broken into early on Monday, with offenders taking the key to a white utility with ‘Nye Refrigeration and Air Conditioning’ on the side, which was yet to be recovered.
The offenders broke into the old Betta Electrical site, 100m away from the new store on Main St, Cobram, which opened about a month ago. The old store is being used as a holding site, before is reopens as a clearance store.
Betta Electrical Cobram owner Michael Stubberfield echoed previous calls for around-the-clock policing in the town.
‘‘They forced entry through the front door before stealing some televisions as well as split-systems,’’ he said.
‘‘We don’t have an exact figure but (the value of the items stolen) would be over $10000.
‘‘The police in Cobram are doing a fantastic job.
‘‘This isn’t about targeting them, but when they are not here, Cobram becomes a target.’’
Cobram police Detective Constable Leah Booth could not confirm if the events were linked.
She asked anyone with information regarding the crimes, including anyone who might have seen three men near the Betta Electrical break-in, to phone Cobram CIU on 5871 1977 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
