The program aims to provide practical business tools, resources and specialist advice to rebuild the resilience of small business.
It will also support businesses as they bounce back stronger and more efficiently from the challenges posed by the natural disaster.
The floods have significantly impacted numerous businesses in Campaspe Shire, with many facing prolonged periods of isolation, reduced trading capacity, staff shortages and a drop in tourism, as well as operational difficulties. Recognising the critical need for support, Business Solutions Hub has launched this initiative, with the support of the Federal and Victorian governments, to help businesses manage and grow their business and emerge resiliently.
Business Solutions Hub executive general manager Lina Altarifi stressed the significance of aiding small businesses in their recovery journey.
“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities. It’s vital that we offer them the support they need to recover and thrive, especially in the face of challenges like those posed by recent floods,” she said.
Numerous businesses in the region have been severely impacted by prolonged isolation, staff shortages and operational disruptions.
“Many businesses were cut off for weeks on end, struggled to find and retain trained staff and faced critical debt management, budget and cashflow issues,” Ms Altarifi said.
“These challenges underscore the urgent need for tailored support to help businesses rebuild and strengthen their operations.”
The Business Support Flood Recovery Program addresses these challenges head-on. One key focus of the program is helping businesses manage employees and workplace relations commitments to improve operations and build efficiencies into their business processes.
By providing practical assistance and resources, including access to an employee engagement pulse survey, guidance on staff retention strategies, templates for workplace policies and a business resilience checklist to help business owners review the current status quo of their business and plan for unforeseen circumstances, the program aims to empower businesses to overcome obstacles and emerge stronger in the long run.
Business Solutions Hub encourages businesses affected by the floods to take advantage of the support available through the program, including attending business resilience seminars scheduled for April and May.
