In fact, most of her paintings to date are inspired by the beautiful natural environment surrounding her property.
“There is never any hassle finding inspiration for an original piece,” Mrs Reid said.
“I don’t have far to go to find inspiration for my art, I just have to walk outside.”
Mrs Reid started painting only three years ago and has already found great success, having sold all of her artwork to date and winning local artist of the year at the 2021 Rotary Easter Art Show.
‘‘I have always been creative with colour and loved styling, which is actually why I started painting in the first place.
‘‘I wanted to decorate my own home with art but couldn’t afford to spend thousands of dollars buying original artwork,’’ she said, before adding she has ‘‘yet to actually keep a piece of my art for my own home, I have sold them all!’’
Mrs Reid decided to donate a piece of her work to help support the arts and Rotary after a tough two years with COVID.
‘‘With COVID it has been particularly hard for the arts and not-for-profit groups to stay alive.
‘‘So it’s a great opportunity for the community to show their support.’’
Mrs Reid’s artwork is currently being displayed at the Deniliquin Visitor Information Centre at 122 End St, where raffle tickets are also available to purchase.
If all goes to plan the art show will be held at the Multi Arts Centre over the Easter weekend, and Echuca’s Glenda Cornell will be the judge.
The Easter Art Show is coordinated by the Deniliquin Rotary Club and the Edward River Art Society.
