In an email to club members on Wednesday, Sporties Barooga board president Darren Nolan said Mr Brooks had informed the board of his resignation from the position of chief executive.
“We would like to acknowledge and thank Bobby for his contribution over the last 17 years,” Mr Nolan said.
“He has driven many positive changes including the opening of Nineteen81, Mini Golf Course, indoor simulators and international award-winning Bullanginya Dreaming as well as the acquisition of Bullanginya Lodge.
“All the while delivering an annual capital works program in excess of $1 million a year and incorporating replacement of the synthetic greens at the bowls club, the biggest renewal upgrades at BARC since it opened and over $750,000 into golf course renewals and enhancements.
“In 2022 under the leadership of Bobby, we were successful in securing our first Webex Players Series Golf tournament, an event that put Cobram-Barooga on the world stage and continues to be viewed annually by hundreds of thousands of golf fans via the broadcast on Fox Sports and Kayo.
“Over this time, we continued to invest in our community, over $1 million a year, to many clubs, organisations and individuals right across our region as well as averaging over $1 million every year in member benefits up from around $729,000 in 2018-19.”
Mr Brooks will be replaced by Tony Tranter, who commences as interim chief executive while the board considers its long-term direction.
