The club is running a Share the Wealth competition on September 8. It is restricted to local bowlers only, in accordance with the NSW Government guidelines (Berrigan Shire bowlers only). Please put your names down so organisers have an idea of numbers.
All bowlers (NSW and Victorian men and women) need to indicate their availability for pennant, if and when it can be arranged, so the club can work how many teams it can enter.
If bowlers can enter their names on the sheet at the club or, in the case of Victorian members, advise Ken Newton (knewton021@gmail.com) via email or via phone of your availability. Your assistance in doing this is appreciated.
Keith's Friday was played in perfect weather with 28 bowlers attending. Winners of the day were Ruth Burnett and Gavan Cullen with a score of +24. Runners-up were Alan Vinecombe and Jan Cullen with 19. Both good scores but only one could win.
Best first game went to Gordon Bennett and Pam O'Dwyer with seven, which was also the winning score for best second game, which went to Jeff Nisbet and Joan Boyer.
The jackpot did not go off and is now $171 after a nice collection of “fines” on Friday.
The greens are going to be sprayed again this week, starting with the Keith Mellier green on Wednesday (unavailable until Saturday), then the Vin Toohey green will be done (unavailable until Wednesday). Greens will be clearly marked accordingly.
Women's social bowls started on Monday, August 31. Bowlers must have names down for play by 12.30 pm, for a 1.30 pm start. Cost is $8.
