Saturday saw the start of the Murray River Challenge with five clubs north of the Murray River playing in a two-bowl tournament style, pennant format match at two venues.
The challenge started on the weekend and it was Tocumwal and Berrigan that started the series. At Berrigan, Barooga had the team of Gerald Rothe, Allan Nichols, Ken Newton and Ruth Burnett finish runners-up to the Berrigan team, lead by Graeme Clements. No results received from the games at Tocumwal.
It was a good hit out in preparation of the coming pennant season and will now be held each Saturday in October. Names need to be in by Wednesday night please.
