More than 300 entries from 126 artists have been received, which is a significant increase on previous years.
The artists have contributed from across the region, and as far afield as Queensland.
The result is a diverse and highly accessible exhibition, offering one of the largest non‑acquisitive prize pools of any regional art show, totalling $17,500.
Delivered by the Rotary Club of Deniliquin in partnership with the Edward River Art Society (ERAS), the exhibition has grown from a small local display into a respected annual fixture on the regional arts calendar.
It consistently generates around $30,000 in artwork sales, providing valuable exposure for emerging and established artists.
This year’s show will again feature mixed media, oil and acrylic works, photography, digital art, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, and dedicated categories including the Local Artist Prize, Local Scene Prize, and Youth Artist Prize.
Rotary Club president Iain Goodway said the community is encouraged to make the most of the expanded program.
“We encourage everyone to come along over Easter, explore the exhibition and enjoy the remarkable creativity on display,” he said.
ERAS president Ginny Reid echoed the sentiment, noting the scale and quality of the 2026 field.
“The Deniliquin Easter Art Prize is a wonderful opportunity to experience contemporary Australian art right here in our region and discover original works from 126 artists.”
Traditionally limited to the Easter long weekend, the exhibition’s success has prompted a major shift.
With ERAS now operating from the Deniliquin Multi Arts Centre, the 2026 show will remain open until Saturday, May 2, giving locals and visitors a full month to explore the collection.
All exhibited works will be available for purchase throughout the display period, with organiser Sivonne Binks noting a range of affordable art on offer.
