The historic Toganmain Woolshed is looking for helpers between July 13-19 to continue work to preserve the Riverina landmark.
That’s when the next working bee is being held and those who want to get on board should make contact via https://torganmain.org.au/join-in
Volunteers can camp on-site and join the team of workers in the restoration work of the wool shed.
Nestled between Darlington Point and Carrathool along the Murrumbidgee River, Toganmain Station was a key player in the Riverina's wool industry in bygone days.
Established by Sir Alexander Macleay and expanded by the Robertson family from 1867, it boasted 167,000 acres and significant Murrumbidgee River frontage.
In November 2022, Friends of Toganmain gained possession of the Toganmain Woolshed and shearers quarters with the aim of preserving it.
Christine Chirgwin, secretary of the Friends of Toganmain group, lives in Coleambally, but drives the considerable distance to Toganmain whenever she can to do her bit to keep the wool shed’s history alive.

I entered a competition to see who had gained the most weight and who had lost the most hair.
Obviously, it wasn’t called that. The invitation actually said ‘High School Reunion’.
Hooroo!
