Reid has been dominant across multiple sports in recent months, including a record breaking performance at the Vic Country Championships in late January and a victory at the Echuca Moama Aquathlon.
Now, he is turning his attention to his biggest task yet.
Reid will be taking on his first half-marathon.
The run is a step up from his usual 3-5km, a range of distances Reid holds a series of records in.
This event however will see Reid take on four times the distance — and the stress — as he tackles 21.1km.
And add in the distance travelled to even compete, with the race taking place near Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Fortunately for Reid, he is making the trip in one of the better times of the year.
Dubai’s weather can often get as hot as the mid 50s, though the temperature in the city at this time isn’t expected to be much higher than the mid 20s.
Following the completion of the event, Reid will be heading to Kenya, a nation famous for its distance running, to undertake training at the High Altitude Training Centre, a program that may further boost his running abilities.
