It is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified members who will work with council.
Mayor Libro Mustica said the AAAC would advise council on improving access and inclusion for people of all abilities in the community.
“The committee will meet four times per year and be a valuable resource assisting council in working towards a number of strategic goals,” he said.
They include helping people of all abilities actively participate, have fun in and socialise in the community while contributing to local decision-making.
It is hoped it will improve accessible services and information and help council be responsive to needs of people with a disability alongside their families and carers, while promoting the importance of inclusion for all.
Committee members must have a strong connection to the local community and live, work, study in, or regularly visit Moira Shire.
For more information or to submit an expression of interest, visit Moira Shire Council website.
Submissions close on June 30.
