And that is thanks to the hard work of staff and students, and the generous support from local donors.
The community now has an opportunity to learn more about the program and how community funding and donations are used.
The school will host an agriculture open day this coming Monday, September 1.
The day is open to anyone and the school expects to have parents, grandparents, past students, supporters and sponsors, as well as interested community members along.
Agriculture teacher Gary Webb is keen to exhibit the hard work of students.
“The community reads and hears about our accomplishments in the Southern Riverina News, but it will be good to show people first hand,” he said.
The open day comes as students are preparing for the Melbourne Royal Show late next month.
During the open day, animals will be getting washed, brushed, trimmed and dried, and visitors are welcome to watch and ask the students any questions.
There are 45 students expected to attend the Melbourne Royal Show as part of the ag team this year, which Mr Webb believes is a testament to the passion and enthusiasm of the students when it comes to agriculture.
“We’re excited by the large influx of Year 7 and 8 students who want to be involved with the show group,” he said.
“The students have put a lot of work and time into the animals, and the open day is a great opportunity for the community to come and see what it’s all about.”
The open day will run from 10am to 2pm, with roast beef rolls served at 12.30pm.
Those wishing to take advantage of the lunch are invited to follow the RSVP instructions on the school’s Facebook page, or call the school on 5883 1344.
