Mayrung, Blighty, Conargo and Bunnaloo public schools gathered together recently for the annual small schools athletics carnival.

It was an exciting day for all the students to socialise with other children from their fellow small schools and take part in some friendly competitions.
Throughout the day the students participated in a number of activities ranging from shotput to relay races.
At the end of the day, Oliver Dellwo from Mayrung and Alice Peat form Blighty were declared outstanding athletes for 2023, winning all of their events.
Oliver was also awarded for his record breaking shotput throw, at a distance of 21.30m.
The record was previously held by Donald Richards, who threw a distance of 21.12m back in 2001.
The junior girls champion was Francesca Starritt with 11 points.
Oliver Dellwo was declared junior boys champion with 21 points.
The 11 years champions were Ella Charlton with 20 points and Kade Golds with 14 pionts.
Senior champions were Jason Hay with 16 points and Alice Peats with 21 points.
Alice Peats and Oliver Dellwo shared outstanding athlete honours.
