Cobram driver detected three times over the legal alcohol limit

Police intercepted a drink driver in Cobram on January 12.

The male, 23, was pulled over while driving on Punt Rd in Cobram in the early hours of January 12.

The driver returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.152.

As a result his vehicle was impounded at a cost of $1720 and he will face Cobram Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

A P-plate driver was detected speeding by police just north of Katamatite on Saturday night.

The male driver, 23, was intercepted on the Tocumwal-Benalla Rd.

A preliminary breath test was conducted at the site and the male accompanied police to Cobram for an Evidential Breath Test.

He produced a reading of 0.147.

The male's licence was immediately suspended and his car was impounded.

He will receive a summons to appear at the Cobram Magistrates Court at a later date.

On January 8 a header comb trailer was stolen from a farm on McDonald's Rd in Lower Moira.

The grey trailer is 14 metres long and is on Toyota Hilux rims.

The trailer is valued at $10 000.

A shed and hay was destroyed by fire on January 6.

The shed, located on Lyles Rd in Picola suffered around $150 000 worth of damage.

Police are continuing their investigations into the cause of the fire.

In the early hours of the morning on January 5, an offender entered a property in Brooke Ct, Numurkah.

The offender broke into a vehicle and stole a number of items which were located inside.

Police confirmed inquiries into the theft were ongoing.

A Numurkah man, 39, was arrested in the early hours of the morning on January 4 for possession of methamphetamine and trafficking of cannabis.

The male was remanded in custody until February 6.

Between December 31 and January 2 offenders stole a large shade sail from Cox Park in Toms Dve, Cobram.

The shade sail covered the playground area and is valued at $4000.

On January 4 a Campbell St, Cobram resident had a garden hose and fittings valued at $59 stolen from the front yard of their home.

Cobram Police are investigating the theft.
