Trailer stolen from Cobram church hall

Police officers were called to investigate a fire at Pye Rd, Cobram, on Friday.

It is understood the fire started about 6 pm and police believe the fire started after a camper cut a fallen red gum with a blunt chainsaw.

The fire spread about 20 m before being extinguished.

● Police are investigating after a trailer was stolen from a Cobram church hall last week. The distinctive trailer, enclosed with mesh and blue tarp and double crate gates, was stolen from the carport of the church hall, Hay Ave, Cobram, overnight Thursday. Police said the trailer had wheel locks and chains attached, but tyre marks at the scene indicate that the trailer was towed away with them intact.

● A bike was stolen from a property in Boorin St, Cobram, on Sunday. The 24-speed men's Giant mountain bicycle was stolen from the carport at the property. The bicycle had been left unchained beside the house, next to two cars.

● A letter box and fence was allegedly damaged by a driver travelling on Bearii-Mywee Rd, Cobram, last week. Police said a victim had his letter box and fence damaged by drivers allegedly doing "donuts" nearby on Sunday night. A number of cars had also been seen earlier in the area during the day.

● A man in his 40’s was arrested on Sunday at the Horseshoe Beach Regional Park in Cobram following reports of him allegedly brandishing a sword. Reports also allege he threatened and abused campers in the area. He was interviewed and later charged. He was remanded to appear at the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.

● Cobram Criminal Investigation Unit has been investigating a number of thefts from businesses in the area in the past week. Early last Tuesday, offenders attempted to jemmy the back door of the Sureway Employment and Training building in Sydney St, Cobram. The offenders failed to gain entry to the property.

Cobram Gifts and Cigarettes in Sydney St was broken into on Wednesday night. A large quantity of cigarettes, tobacco and other items were stolen by offenders.

Entry was also gained into Cobram Taxis in Broadway St overnight on Saturday. The offenders allegedly entered through an unlocked factory door, stealing a quantity of cash.

Offenders gained entry into Scent in a Box on Punt Rd, Cobram, on the weekend, after removing some window louves to open a door. A quantity of coins was stolen.

Katunga

The tyres of a car parked in Spences Rd, Katunga, were deflated and a valve removed overnight on October 28.

Police said the car had been parked in front of the victim's house at the time of the incident, which was believed to have happened sometime between 9 pm on October 28 and 7 am on October 29.

The victim heard his dogs barking overnight, possibly disturbing the offender.

Numurkah

About 2.30 am on October 29, a resident at a Mckenzie St, Numurkah address heard a kitchen window break.

A small metal projectile was found on the ground outside the window, which faces Tweedle St, later that day.

● Overnight Wednesday, an unlocked car parked at a property in Callander St, Numurkah, was entered. Police said the glovebox and consoles were found open, with the contents left on the driver seat. A quantity of tools were stolen.

● A silver Mitsubishi Pajero wagon parked on the front lawn of a property in Rowe St, Numurkah was stolen overnight Thursday. The car, which had tools, an Apple iPod, portable stereo and a GPS inside, had been left unlocked with the keys inside.
