High effort from high tea

There was glitz and glamour at Numurkah Lions Ladies’ high tea on Sunday, and all for a good cause.

The Lions club raised $3000, which will go towards NCN Numurkah’s health bus.

Secretary Judith Duffett said 130 people attended, with $1000 in donations collected on the day to go alongside the money raised by tickets.

“Everyone was really happy and we all have a really good time,” she said.

The theme was ‘Diamond Jubilee’, with monarchy paraphernalia, including old magazines and newspapers.

Mrs Duffett said Paddington was also popular, with stuffed teddies on most tables.

The annual lunch has been held every year since 2008 aside from 2020 and 2021, with $30,000 raised for community causes in the Numurkah area.

It was the first event held since the COVID pandemic began.
