Division 1 was soundly beaten by Mathoura when they lost on all three rinks, albeit very narrowly on one.
Jamie Shields’ side including Carly Crothers, John Flisher and Steve O’Brien were always under pressure before succumbing 13 shots to 21.
And it was a similar sad story for the combination of Ken Salter, Chris Taylor, Peter Chadderton and Mark Quor (skip) when they went down 12-21.
Shane Laing’s crew with Rob Morris, Dallas Kitchin and Bryan Kemnitz made a much better fist of it, but still fell short by a solitary shot 17-18.
It ensured Mathoura clinched the comfortable 18 shot victory, 60 shots to 42.
It was a slightly closer encounter for Division 2, but they still fell short by seven shots with Rich River prevailing 55 shots to 48.
Stuart Treble’s rink along with Terry Boyer, Joanne Bovell and Craig Hillier were beaten 15-23, while Andrew Holloway, Terry Taylor, Steve King and Paul Snare (s) came agonisingly close before going under 17 shots to 19.
The only shining light was on the final rink when Glenn Thomson called the shots for Mark Tasker, Jill Grimshaw and David Hessel when they prevailed 16-13, but not sufficient to make up the seven shot difference.

There were four two-game winners in the Clear Lifestyle Support Jackpot Bowls at the Deniliquin Bowling Club last Wednesday.
After intense scrutiny from the tournament officials, Sue Atley and Stuart Treble were declared the victors on countback from Ron Davis and Ken ‘Titch’ Salter.
It was then over to Mark Quor (he’s been there before) to have a crack at the $2000 jackpot, but he failed to snare the elusive joker.
That means that one lucky bowler will have the opportunity at $2050 after play tomorrow.
Intending players are asked to nominate by 5pm, either in person or by calling the club on 5881 1348, with play to commence at 6pm.
