The twilight event saw about 40 riders competing, with large numbers of children getting involved.
President Elise Huddle said it was good to see so many juniors involved in the Christmas themed event.
‘‘We had a few prizes for best dressed Christmas outfit, the dress ups were great and it was extremely hard to choose the winners,’’ she said.
‘‘We also had a surprise visit from Santa Claus who surprised the kids coming in on his horse and racing around the barrels.
‘‘He also stuck around to help with the tiny tot presentation.’’
Huddle said that the club will look to host another event in March, with a date yet to be confirmed.

While the Deni club is still waiting for their next event, two local riders recently competed in barrel races at the Finley Rodeo.
Jordan Grant performed well with a time of 17.990 seconds, while Ella Birt finished in 18.77 seconds.
