He made 48 in the second innings on Tuesday before being run out after top-scoring with 81 in the first dig.
His 667 runs for the season at an average of 39.23 have given his side reliable starts. The 29-year-old went past 4000 first-class runs during the match.
South Australia resumed on 0-27 on the final day with Hunt run out by Mitch Perry from square leg at the non-striker's end after he hesitated before trying to take a quick single.
Captain Nathan McSweeney (39) got in some valuable batting practice before the final while Jason Sangha (57no) also continued his good form after making 115 in the previous match against NSW.
