The Australia allrounder almost won the Hundred Men match for Southern Brave, but ultimately conceded the winning runs to leave a brilliant bowling stint by Marcus Stoinis in vain.
Stoinis took 3-17 in 20 balls to put the Brave within reach of their first victory of the 2026 campaign.
But MI London, the former Oval Invincibles franchise now owned by Mumbai Indians, overhauled them off the final delivery.
The match was almost a repeat of the day's earlier women's match between the same sides in which Sophie Molineux's Brave defended 7-126 to win by one run.
This time the Brave men made 9-129 with Stoinis making five in nine balls and Chaudhary 13 off nine. England's Jamie Smith (49 off 26) and South African Tristan Stubbs (38 off 31) were the mainstays of the innings.
Trent Boult, taking 2-15 in 20 balls, was the standout bowler.
Boult did not expect to be needed again, especially not when MI London were respectively 2-82 off 68 balls, then 4-115 off 87.
Stoinis made the first significant bowling intervention, dismissing James Vince and Nicolas Pooran in successive balls, both for ducks. He then returned to see off the set batter, Will Jacks (54 off 41) with a superb yorker.
Sherfane Rutherford turned the game around with an explosive 12-ball 21, before being brilliantly run out by Chris Jordan.
It came down to 12 off ten, at which point Jordan threw the ball to Chaudhary. It seemed the gamble had paid off when he bamboozled Tom Curran and forced Rashid Khan's run out.
That left three off three with Boult new to the crease. He smashed the first ball back at the spinner who nearly took a brilliant low catch, but instead suffered a gashed hand.
After a lengthy medical break, Boult scrambled a single leaving Ollie Pope requiring two to win.
In the earlier match, MI Women needed three of the last ball, but managed one. This time Pope chipped over the infield to secure victory.
