This is what Susan "Boomer" Jenkins discovers when a fresh start takes a deadly turn in the next chapter of Wentworth.
Production is under way in Melbourne on Wentworth: Halfway Home, with Binge unveiling a first look at the new Australian drama.
Katrina Milosevic returns as fan favourite Boomer, who arrives at Sal's Halfway House after being paroled, determined to win custody of her daughter and build a new life.
But when a body turns up, the former inmate finds herself surrounded by people she may not be able to trust.
Joining Milosevic are fellow Wentworth favourites Nicole da Silva as Franky Doyle and Kate Box as Lou Kelly, alongside a fresh ensemble cast, including Rachel Griffiths, Nadine Garner and Elaine Crombie.
Griffiths, known for Muriel's Wedding and Brothers & Sisters, plays Moira, a glamorous former beauty therapist whose second marriage catapulted her into high society, only for her husband's death to expose their fortune as a house of cards.
Now on parole after serving three years of a five-year sentence for fraud, Moira arrives at Sal's with a talent for blackmail, loan-sharking and seduction - a combination unlikely to make her the house's most popular resident.
"Moira is a delicious character to bring to life and is going to shake things up at the house," Griffiths said.
"I am so excited to be working with such an amazing group of actors and creatives and being part of the iconic Wentworth world is going to be a lot of fun."
Foxtel Group executive director of entertainment content Daniel Monaghan said Griffiths' casting was a major coup for the new series.
The actor "brings extraordinary depth and screen presence" to every role, and Moira was a character audiences would "love to hate", he said.
Crombie, known for Top End Wedding and Invisible Boys, plays Sam, a former stalker whose obsession with a failed relationship led to a break-in and assault.
While she has found stability at the halfway house, her eagerness to please hides a vengeful streak.
Garner, known for The Doctor Blake Mysteries and High Country: What Lies Beneath, said she was thrilled to join the series.
"For many years I had friends and colleagues creating and working on Wentworth ... it became a solid fixture of screen work in Victoria," Garner said.
While she always "admired the show from afar", she is now stepping into the world that they created.
"I never dreamed I would be stepping into this next chapter and am so grateful for the opportunity to carry forward the story for their dedicated audience," she said.
The original Wentworth premiered on Foxtel in 2013, re-imagining the landmark Australian prison drama, Prisoner, for a new generation.
Across nine seasons, the Fremantle-produced series screened in more than 170 territories and built a devoted international following.
Now fans are being invited to step back inside Wentworth, with every season of the show available to stream on Binge and Foxtel ahead of the arrival of the Australian original drama series.
