Get revved up

By Tatura Guardian

Goulburn Valley Fins and Fenders Car Club members are busy getting ready for the annual Tatura Show and Shine to get the locals’ motors revving.

Opening at 9am the sixth annual show will take place at the Tatura Racecourse, Sunday, October 21.

Club secretary Janine McNiece said the show was a perfect way to relax with friends and family with the opportunity of making new friends, with so many great people and a diverse range of vehicles attending.

‘‘The event is like a big family gathering to us each year and we look forward to catching up with the regular attendees as well as meeting new faces,’’ Ms McNiece said.

She said all profits raised from the day would be donated back into the Tatura community.

‘‘We have received so much great feedback from last year’s event, thank you,’’ she said.

‘‘It means a lot to us that the entrants, their families and spectators are enjoying themselves at Tatura Show and Shine.’’

Admission for general public on the day is a gold coin donation and entries for the 10 Rabbit Trap Trophy are $5.

Ms McNiece said the entrants and exhibitors were what make the event.

‘‘We’ve received numerous emails from car clubs around the state advising of their attendance as well as clubs from NSW,’’ she said.

‘‘Each year it is due to the entrants and exhibitors that enable us to hold our annual event in a little country town that provides an excellent opportunity for spectators to see a huge range of vehicles and meet some great people who own the vehicles.’’

Ms McNiece said there would be plenty of entertainment, courtesy of local businesses in the area.

‘‘We will have a jumping castle and face painting for the kids, food and market stalls, barbecue, bar courtesy of the Tatura Hotel, Kyabram Vintage Engine Club display, SES lifesaving skills demonstration, CFA Tatura, live music by The Hustlers belting out the tunes, vehicle parade at noon and much more,’’ she said.

The Tatura Show and Shine runs from 9am to 2pm at the Tatura Racecourse, 157/161 Ross St, Tatura.
